Inquiry question: where are we from and who am I?

1. What is a patchwork quilt?
A patchwork quilt is pieces of fabric with different colors to represent the story behind it, and all those pieces of fabric connected in one to make a patchwork quilt.
2.How can a patchwork quilt show where we are from and who we are?
The colors you pick could represent your personality and they way your mind thinks.
3.How can a patchwork quilt be considered art? how?
They can be considered art because patchwork quilts have different colors,shapes,stories etc, on them.
4.How does Matisse create collage work using scissor and paper?
When Henri Matisse was working on a particular project, he would ask for a collection of colored paper placed on the studio floor. He would choose a specific paper and start cutting shapes. If Matisse wanted to cut larger shapes there would be a studio assistance for guiding the scissors in the correct way to make it smooth.
5. How have you used Matisse's cut out style to influence and inspire your artwork?
I have used Matisse's cut out style to create my own patchwork quilt with different shapes and colors with my own story behind it.

What was your aim?

Our aim was to create a patchwork with a story on it that we have experienced previously.

How did Henri Matisse inspire me?

Henri Matisse has inspired me by showing me a new and different way of art.

What were the difficulties?

The difficulties were that i couldn't really get the shape that i wanted because it was quite hard cutting the fabric into shapes.

Reflection on the lesson

In the lesson we finished of our Matisse artworks and then we stated cutting out the fabric, then stuck them on the other piece of fabric.
